Obituary of Raymond Fritz
FRITZ, Raymond “Ray” of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 86 years old. Ray Fritz was born on October 2, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Mathias and Freida (Weber) Fritz. He married Lois M. Fritz on October 2, 1948 in Saginaw; she survives him.
Ray was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church. He worked for Malleable Iron and Gary Weiss Auto Body, later retiring from Michigan Sugar in Carrollton. Ray had a passion for music, and as a young boy enjoyed playing the accordion. He then founded the Ray Fritz Polka Band and played at many venues throughout Michigan.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois M. Fritz of Saginaw; three daughters: Beverly McMall-Fritz, Janice (Quaadir) Al-Hasan, Rae (Richard) Johnson; 9 grandchildren including Phillip and Shari Hahn who live with Lois and Ray; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Amelia Landskroener and Ida Doran. He was predeceased in death by three brothers: Edward, William and Leroy Fritz.
