Raymond Eugene Turpen, 83, of Anderson, passed away on April 1, 2016, at Edgewater Woods Nursing Home. He was born on March 9, 1933, in Lubbock County, Texas.

Raymond was very proud to have graduated from Purdue University and Ivy Tech at the age of 60. He retired custodian for General Motors. He was a member of Alethia Fellowship & Ministry Center where he was very active, the VFW Honor Guard, and the Past Chapter President of the Korean War Veterans. Raymond was also a member of various gun and conservation clubs.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Paul) Hamilton and Vicky (Tim) Hull; grandchildren, Chris (Mandy) Young, Brian Young, Joshua (Sarah) Hull, Rachel (David) Brown, and Daniel Hull; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Denny (Paula) Turpen; special children, Neal Jakes and Roger Trueblood as well as being a grandfather to many.

He was preceded in death on September 10, 2011, by his loving wife, Betty Lou Turpen, whom he married on December 24, 1953; son, Orie Turpen; parents, Leon and Leora (Mills) Turpen and siblings, Henry Leon Turpen, Burnice Claude Turpen and Ralph Turpen.
