Raymond Edward Johnson, 86, of Pangburn, Arkansas, was born February 23, 1929 to Edward and Elsie Johnson in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015. Raymond was a member of the Heber Springs Church of Christ.
Raymond proudly served his country through service in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a homebuilder in the greater Little Rock area from 1975 through 1990. Upon moving to Pangburn, Raymond continued to build and remodel homes well into his 80s. He served as the president of the Homebuilders’ Association of Greater Little Rock in 1988 and was a Life Spike Member. He was a devoted husband and loving father, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, but his passion was making jellies and jams for his friends and family.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Deborah Johnson of Germantown, Tennessee; daughter, Linda Johnson of Portland, Oregon; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dorothy Stallard of Cabot, Arkansas and Freda Patterson of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and a brother, Dee Johnson of Natural Dam, Arkansas.
