Raymond E. Camarco of Newington, CT, died on December 21st, 2015. Ray was born in Hartford and attended Kennelly School from kindergarten through 8th grade, then moved to Newington before high school, from which he graduated in 1971. He earned an associate degree in law enforcement from Manchester Community College, and at the age of 21, he began his police career in the town of Newington. Previously, Ray served as both a volunteer in the ambulance corps and the fire department. He retired from the police department as a sergeant in 1997. He worked for the State of Connecticut Department of Special Revenue until 2009, when he retired as lieutenant. Ray was always involved in sports; starting with little league, he continued to play baseball and basketball through high school. Ray was an avid golfer, who won many trophies and championships. He leaves his wife Sue Camarco, daughter Molly Camarco, and son Robert Camarco; sister, Maria Camarco and her husband Clyde Ogburn; niece and nephew Michele and Jeff Camarco; nephew Scott Megquier; numerous great nieces and nephews; his two uncles and aunt. He is pre-deceased by his brother Doug Camarco and his parents, Lois and Rido Camarco.
