Raymond Collett Morris passed away peacefully at Regional Hospice of Western CT on October 22, 2022, at the age of 95.
Mr. Morris was born on July 3rd, 1927 in Maesteg Wales at home to Dorothy Collett Morris and John Morris.
He attended High School in London followed by Willesden Technical College. He also proudly served in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic Fitter #2.
Raymond was 19 years old when he met Muriel, the love of his life at Cricklewood Paliase Dance Hall during the WWII London bombings. They were married 9 months later on April 26th, 1947 in Willesden, London. Their Eldest daughter Julie Anne was born in April of 1948 and 1 year later they came to America with Ray’s family. They were then blessed with their youngest daughter April in 1954.
Mr. Morris was a Tool and Die maker by trade. He worked at Dupont Sorvall for 34 years manufacturing centrifuges.
He absolutely loved his family, he was a loving father to both of his daughters and a devoted, caring husband to his wife of 74 years, Muriel.
After his retirement, he spent most weekends flying kites, roller skating and playing with his granddaughters.
Raymond is preceded in death by his wife Muriel, son Phillip and daughter Julie Anne. Also his four siblings Iris, Vera, John, and Shirley.
He is survived by his daughter April Morris Radlet and Loving Son-In Law Peter Radlet of Danbury.
