Raymond Adams of Gooding, Idaho passed away at the age of 75. He was born in Lenapah, Oklahoma on August 15, 1937. At an early age he came to Idaho. Raymond was a son of Charlie and Flora Belle Adams. He was raised on a farm north of Gooding, Idaho. He attended school in Gooding, graduating in the year of 1956. In 1955 Raymond was chosen as the only student from the Gooding School to attend the FFA convention in Kansas City, Kansas.

On October 26, 1958 he married Ida M. Armstrong at her parent’s home in Wendell, Idaho. He was the daddy to five kids and a friend to many other kids that needed a home to call their own.

In 1961 Raymond started his truck driving career. He drove milk trucks for Hank Theiman, hauling milk cans for Pet Milk Company. From there he drove for Mike Spencer for the Jerome Co-op Creamery. During this time he also farmed. Raymond started driving livestock trucks in 1963 for Ernie Kimbrough. He then drove livestock trucks for Cady Auto and France Feedlot. He was a driver for forty years. Because of his good and safe driving record he was chosen by the Tre-Bar Kenworth Company as the driver of the year for the state of Idaho. Raymond was picked because of the most miles driven without any accidents nor driving tickets. This award was given to Raymond in 1997. Tre-Bar gave him a trip for four with all expenses paid to the Poly Bemis Ranch on the Salmon River for seven days. He was very proud of his record. In 2003 he quit driving because of his health problems. We sold the farm and moved into town.
