Raymond Albert Bernhardt was born on February 1, 1933 in South Bend, IN. He passed away on October 22, 2014. He graduated from Riley High School in 1950. He was in the Air Force for 26 years and retired on March 30, 1979. Raymond served in the Cuban Missile Crisis, Germany, North Africa and Vietnam War. He met Shirley Luke at Eglin AFB. They were married for 55 years in 1959. Raymond worked for BMT Manufacturing for serving years. He spent summers in Spruce Pine, NC. He also enjoyed model railroading.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Shirley Bernhardt; two children, Sharon Kay Bernhardt and Kenneth A. Bernhardt; three grandchildren, Gregory, Lance and Ryan.
