Ray Young, Jr. was born July 9, 1950 in Denver, CO and passed away on January 19, 2009. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Pearl and Raymond Young. Ray is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Porter, and husband Michael of Boerne, TX, Linda Northrup, and husband Dan of Converse, TX; nieces, Mary Elizabeth Russell and husband Donald, Amber Pearl Porter; nephews, Daniel Northrup, Randall Northrup and wife Christine, Cameron Porter, and his wife Precious, Ashley Porter. Ray served in the Air Force as a Security Police Officer during Vietnam then used his G.I. bill to earn his B.S. in Computer Science from Southwest Texas State. Ray worked 25 years for the City of San Antonio as a Programmer until he retired. Ray was devoted to taking care of his parents and family always giving of himself for them. He loved all sports and always rooted for all the Colorado teams, he always felt his heart was in Colorado. He also enjoyed reading and watching Sci Fi shows. Recently he lived in Germany with his sister Elizabeth where he enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, and long walks in the Forest. Ray also leaves behind many friends at Kingsley Place. Ray and our entire family want to say a heartfelt “Thank You” to their Special Care Staff and Alamo Hospice for their loving, caring, support which allowed Ray to pass over to be with the Lord with compassion, dignity, and comfort. Ray, my special brother, you will be missed, but we will find comfort in your well deserved peace and know you are now in the loving presence of our mom.
