Ray A. Taylor, 69, passed away on February 12, 2009, after a 7-year battle with cancer. He was born December 16, 1939, in Casper, Wyoming to Donald O. Taylor and Lillian R. Taylor. Ray transferred to Arizona State University in 1959. He was a member of the Beta Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity at ASU and served as president in 1961. After graduation, he taught math and was an assistant coach at St. Mary’s High School in Phoenix. Ray received his LLB from the University of Arizona in 1966. He was in the private practice of law for 35 years before becoming a Judge Pro Tem and Hearing Officer in the Scottsdale City Court. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; his son, Eric A. Taylor (Kelly); his daughters, Lana Holmes (Brad), Jill Gaynor (Ray); step-daughter, Stephanie O’Connor (Jeff) of Marquette, MI; his sisters, Donelle J. Schlicht of Casper, Wyoming and Laura L. Day; seven grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 2 nephews, Donald J. Schlicht of Casper, Wyoming and Duane D. Schlicht (Mercedes) of Tucson, AZ; two nieces, Kristy Day; Kimberly Jones (Jesse) of Seattle, Washington; one Aunt, Iona Garrett of Denver, CO and one Uncle, Robert Rossin of Greybull, Wyoming.
