Ray passed June 15, 2011 of natural causes. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Jan. 7, 1921, Ray loved being an Iowan, but enjoyed being near family in AZ since 2004. He graduated High School, enlisted in the Navy and married his sweetheart, Lois by the time he was 21. Ray was wholly dedicated to all he did and lived a fun, loving, honest, hard working, family centered life. Ray loved friends & family (people in general!), cars, building anything, flying, Okoboji, Naples Fl., Phoenix, Southern CA., boating & fishing, dancing, being a proud Navy Vet. Ray may be physically gone but he was an all around great guy who left many wonderful memories with us. Ray is survived by wife of 68 yrs. Lois, Daughter Janet (Frank) Hanson, Son James, Granddaughters Sheri Cross, Terry Thomas, Step Grandchildren Rod Hanson (Jeff), Ryan Hanson (Angela), Raquel Stout, 14 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Nephews & 2 Nieces. Celebration is June 25, 2011, 10:00 AM at Emeritus At Gilbert 845 N. El Dorado Dr, Gilbert, 85233. Ray was blessed with many wonderful caregivers from Emeritus, Sunrise of Chandler, Home Instead and Sun Valley Hospice.
