Raul Gonzalez, 71, of Goldsboro passed away Sunday at Wayne UNC Hospital. He is the son of the late Godofredo and Josefa Muniz Gonzalez and was the husband of Rosita Gonzalez. He served in the United States Army and was a project Specialist for ACME United. Raul was an avid New York Yankees, New York Jets, and Brooklyn Nets fan, he could fix anything, and he loved to tell “Dad Jokes”. He was the “Rock” of the family, he loved to spoil his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and helped everyone he could.
In addition to his wife of 29 years, Raul is survived by his children, Raul Gonzalez Jr of Rosewood, Anthony Gonzalez of Brooklyn, NY, Yvette Gonzalez of Brooklyn, NY, Paula Vargas and husband, Tony Waters of Goldsboro, Robert Gonzalez, Sr. of Princeton, and Roy Kevin Gonzalez of Brooklyn, NY; a granddaughter he raised, Melinda Justine Foley and husband, Kyle; grandchildren, Brian Gonzalez and wife, Ella, Alyssa Vargas, Robert Gonzalez Jr, Malachi Gonzalez, Camryn Collymore, Allysia Gonzalez, Arissa Collymore, Alayiah Brown, Skylynn Gonzalez, Braylon Gonzalez, Darius Collymore, Latonio Waters Jr, Zoe Gonzalez, and Niko Jordan Gonzalez; and great grandchildren, Aria Gonzalez, Aubree Vargas, Analee Gonzalez and Adrienne Gonzalez; siblings, Elfrin Gonzalez, Freddie Gonzalez, Elia Hernandez and Lucy Gonzalez, all of Goldsboro, NC.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Miguel Gonzalez, Sr.
