Palumbo, Raphael H.

86, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2015 in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ray was born April 12, 1929 in Matawan, N.J. He married Kathleen Ann Schober on November 15, 1952. On April 13, 1954, their first son Christopher was born. Their daughter Raeann was born on September 22, 1955 and their son T.R. was born January 24, 1961.

Ray was an educator in the filed of electronics for the U.S. Government where he taught many of our troops the intricacies of microwave and radar communications.

Ray and Kay and their 3 children resided mostly in Keyport, N.J. To say that he was a boating enthusiast would fall short of his true love of the sea. In addition to owning many different boats, he served on the Board of Governors at the Keyport Yacht Club and the Palumbo family spent every summer boating along the Eastern Seaboard. His family and the sea were his greatest joys in life.

In 1984 after Ray retired, he and Kay moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where they continued to make many new friends.

Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and an extraordinary friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen of 62 years, sons, Christopher (Linda) and T.R., Daughter Raeann (Mark), 8 grandchildren Jeffrey, Christopher, Jennifer, Jordan, Taylor, Kristen, Ryan and Tori, and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ted and sisters Audrey and Tippy. He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Mildred and sister Muriel.

Family was every thing to our Dad, Poppy, PopPop , Great Poppy, Great PopPop and Papa. If you knew him, then you know he was the smartest man alive.
