Randy Wayne Snider of Chariton, Iowa was born on July 4th, 1952 to Wayne Olen and Arlene Jeanette Williams. Randy passed away in his home of 26 years under the care of his loving wife and daughter as well as the care of Circle of Life Hospice. Randy attended grade school in Norwood, Lucas and Chariton and graduated from Southeast Warren High School in 1970. For 33 years of his working life he worked as a welder at Johnson Machine Works in Chariton. He responded to a couple of nick names given by his Johnson’s buddies including “Admiral” and “Chief.” On August 27, 1988 Randy married Ellen Donnell Dixson in Lucas Iowa. To this union, one child was born, a daughter Amanda Rae on March 23, 1992. Randy enjoyed attending Sprint Car races with his brother and daughter at Knoxville Raceway and in later years the Indy Car series at the Iowa Speedway in Newton. Randy enjoyed his tractor collection of over 1,000 die cast toy tractors as well as toy race cars. He also collected Texaco memorabilia. In the summer he could be found tinkering in the garage on various projects or riding his Harley Davidson Sportster. He also loved driving his Ford Mustang as well as buying parts to fix up his 1937 Chevy pick-up. He enjoyed traveling around Iowa with his wife and loved taking care of his “grand dog” Oliver and his “grand cat” Zoe.
