Scott was born on July 28, 1968 to Billy Frank and Margaret Sherin McKinney in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Indian Trail. Scott had a passion for the outdoors, hunting, fishing, old cars and trains. He followed sports, Nascar (Dale, Sr), Hockey (Hurricanes), Football (Panthers). He also had a love for sailing, travel, movies, music, the 3 Stooges, and parasailing in Hawaii.
