Randy Ray “Big Dog” Patterson, 55, of Jacksonville, IL passed away Monday, October 29, 2012 at Passavant Area Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born April 11, 1957 in Jacksonville; the son of Raymond “Pat” and Pauline Lewis Patterson.
He is survived by his parents of Jacksonville; his fiancé, Susan Merriman of Jacksonville; and his sister, Cheryl Patterson (fiancé, Ed Rathgeb) of Jacksonville.
A 1975 graduate of Jacksonville High School, Randy was employed at AC Humko and its predecessors, Mrs. Tucker’s, Anderson-Clayton, and Kraft Foods for 33 years until his early retirement due to health concerns. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and Jacksonville Elks Lodge #682. Big Dog was a devoted fan of NASCAR Racing, enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Cubs, and was passionate about watching John Wayne movies.
