Randell E. Brown, 74, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 10, 2021.

Randell was born October 19, 1946, in Panguitch, Utah, to Allen Ervin Brown and Shirley Bernice Nay Brown. He grew up and attended schools in Richfield, Utah, and graduated from Richfield High School. While growing up he would run the projectors for Van and Madge at the Huish Real Theaters. From there, he also helped manage a family bar within Richfield, Utah, until moving to Idaho Falls in his 20s, driving a blue 1956 Chevrolet flatbed pickup. Randell was exceptionally skilled in all things mechanical, but his true passion was in cars.  He worked as a mechanic at Ron Sayer Dodge until moving on to work as a hearing aid dealer and fitter with his step-father, Dean Laurance, and mother, Shirley. While working with hearing disabled individuals, Randell also helped his brother, Rodney, run a mechanic shop, and then was also involved in working in another shop owned by his brother-in-law, Ray, and sister, Kathy.

On October 15, 1969, he married Karen Jane Brown in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Karen could not resist Randell’s charm and his ability to keep her on her toes in friendly debates. Both Randell and Karen were known to race through the streets in their forest green 1968 Dodge Charger. Shortly after marrying, Randell became a reserve officer with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Department. Randell then proceeded to graduate from post academy and became a sheriff’s deputy. He worked for several years as a deputy and then also ran for the office of Sheriff. During this time, Randell and Karen brought their first child into the world in April of 1977, named Kenneth Allen Brown.

Randell spent 54 years serving the elderly and others with hearing impairments in hopes of improving their lives.

Randell is survived by his loving wife, Karen Jane Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Kenneth (Misty) Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Pamela Brown of Idaho Falls, ID; fur kid, Colt; grandson, Jason; grand pups, Tank & Lola; sister, Kathy (Ray) Cook of Idaho Falls, ID; and brother, Richard Brown of Boise, ID.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his baby sister, also named Karen; and brother, Rodney Brown.
