Surrounded by his loving children, Randall Dougherty drifted into peace on December 24, 2021.

Known for his care for others, Randy had a sharp mind and a dry wit. He was practical, playful, and talented in many ways. Randy was born in a log cabin in the small southern Indiana town of Organ Spring. He was educated in a one-room schoolhouse through eighth grade. After graduating from Hardinsburg High School, he served honorably in the United States Army. Following his service, Randy located to Anderson, IN to apprentice at Delco Remy. He retired early as a tool design engineer, allowing him more time to travel with his wife, golf, and serve his community through Sertoma.

In later years he enjoyed a strong connection with fellow veterans at the American Legion. No matter what he was doing or where he was, his main focus and love was his family. Randy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Sherry, along with their three children, Karen Dougherty, Jim (Suzanne Gould) Dougherty, and Mary (Michael) Handiboe. Grandchildren include Travis (Leslie Fish) McShane, Ryan Poor, Gemma Gould-Dougherty, Christopher (Lindsay) Cook, Zachary Handiboe, and Jonathan Handiboe. Great-grandchildren are Orion McShane, Jett McShane, and Emmett Dufresne.

He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Mariam Curtis and Jama Snider, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
