Randall Gerritt Oakes, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016, in Indianapolis. He was born April 1, 1933, in Sulphur Wells, Kentucky, to his parents Raymond and Mary Bernice (Cassady) Oakes.
He was a self-employed car salesman, for 35 years. He enjoyed going to the horse track and the casino. He also loved collecting cassette tapes and tape recorders.
He is survived by his children, Ronald (Karen) Oakes of New Whiteland, and Elaine (Bill) Wallace of Indianapolis, one brother Robert (Dana) Oakes, also of Indianapolis, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchildren.
Randall was preceded in death by his wife, Emiline (Carnahan) Oakes and two brothers, Shelton and Donald Oakes.
