Ramona Vasquez, 85 of Silver City passed away on August 17, 2017, at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Ramona was born October 2, 1931, in Villa Lopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Luciano and Soledad (Arzabe) Duarte. She was a very spiritual person and member of the Roman Catholic Church. Ramona was very friendly, with a positive attitude toward life, meaning she never met a stranger. Among the many things she enjoyed, sunsets and traveling were two of her favorite things. Ramona made many friends while traveling with her husband in Mexico, Europe, and Nicaragua. She achieved her dream by going on a Caribbean cruise with her daughter and son-in-law. Her life goal was to have great adventures, be happy and make those around her happy. Ramona certainly will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Jose H. Vasquez of 62 years; daughter, Leticia Obar (Robert Jr.); Brother, Beto Duarte (Clara); sister, Leanor Baylon one grandson, Robert Obar III (Susan), two great-grandchildren, Robert Obar IV and Jacob Obar; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews. Also, surviving Ramona are many in-laws and a host of friends.
