Mrs. Ramona “Mona” Hughes, age 80, of Milford, passed away with her son, James, suddenly early Wednesday morning, December 3, 2008.
Born on July 18, 1928 in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Bridgeport. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Hughes, who worked for the Jewish Community Center on Park Avenue for 38 years. Mona is survived by a godson, Dave Lane. She was a mother to all the children in the neighborhood, everyone called her “Mom”. She had special friends, Dave, Penny, and Khan, who lived with her and Jim; they were like family.
