  Ramon J. Montesi Ramon “Ray” Montesi, 62, of Danbury, died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 17, 2013. Ray was born in Danbury, July 20, 1950, son of the late Wilson and Ellen (Paradise) Montesi. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School in the Class of 1969. While at Danbury High School, Ray was a member of the Danbury High Baseball Team and regarded as one of the best catchers in the team’s history. With the intention of a college education, the untimely death of his father occurred in the first semester of his academic studies; Ray returned home to support and assist his mother and his sister. Ray was a lifelong Danbury resident and later became involved in local softball leagues as a player and coach for many years. He pitched the first no hitter in Danbury softball history. An avid NY Yankee and Jets fan, an annual tradition of his was attending the Army vs. Navy football game. He enjoyed traveling with his friends. His trips to Italy and Paris were among the highlights and he returned with many great stories to share. Ray was truly one of a kind. Friend to so many, the strength of his family, the support and encouragement to his sister, the father and uncle to his nephews and loved by all who knew him. Ray will always have a special place at Pippa’s Café and will be remembered by his close friends as “The Legend” He will be sorely missed. Ray is survived by his sister, Barbara Morehouse; his nephews, Brian Morehouse and his wife, Genene and Kyle Morehouse and his wife, Michele; his great nephews and great nieces, Daniel, Matthew, Mackenzie, Cassidy and Ella.
