Ralph Wesselman, age 82, of Algona, Iowa died on Sunday September 21, 2014 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Ralph Bernard Wesselman, the son of Ben and Caroline (Fuhler) Wesselman, was born on November 3, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri. He graduated from Titonka High School in 1949. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge Ralph served 6 more years in the Army Reserves. Ralph farmed and later worked at Ernie Williams John Deere in Algona. He was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus. Ralph bowled for many years and he enjoyed coffee at the Chrome and lunch at McDonalds. Left to cherish Ralph’s memory are his nieces, Debra (Jim) Landuyt of Huxley and Rita (Paul) Wolfgram of Webster City; nephews, Dale (Audrey Carr) Wesselman of Carmel, NY, Rick (Dawn) Wesselman of Centennial, CO and Larry (Mary) Wesselman of Beaverton, OR; eight grandnieces and nephews; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, LeRoy Wesselman in 2013; and a sister-in-law, Jane Wesselman in 2005.
