Ralph Freebairn, 70, of Freedom Township passed away at his home on April 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. Ralph was born April 8, 1947 in Freedom Township to Wesley and Naomi (Albertson) Freebairn.

A Graduate of Ottawa Township High School, he married Carol Franz on September 26, 1970 at the Waltham Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer all his life and member of the Waltham Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He was the Freedom Township Supervisor. He was Past-Chairman of the Farm Bureau Young Farmers, and Past-President of the LaSalle County Farm Bureau. He belonged to the Lions Club in Leland, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M., Corn Belt Energy Board of Directors, and served on Serena Community Unit 2 School Board. Ralph was a director of District 4 IAA Board.

He is survived by his wife, Carol of Freedom Township, one daughter Diana ( Bradley) Mital of Ransom, one son, Scott Freebairn of Ottawa, three grandchildren Emma, Kara, and Cole Freebairn, one sister Rita (Rich) Beard of St. Charles, Missouri and two brothers, John (Kathy) Freebairn of Kennesaw, Georgia, and Paul (Krista) Freebairn of Newman, Illinois. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents.
