Ralph Burgin, age 84, of Birmingham AL passed away Friday, October 19, 2012. He was retired from South Central Bell after 30 years of service and owner of Bee J’s for 25 years. He was a member of Avondale Presbyterian Church, and was an original member of the Avondale Boys. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1953. Ralph was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Zamora Shrine Temple. He was an active member of the American Legion for 28 years where he served as Chaplin; he also was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Jeanette M. Burgin; mother, Carrie C. Burgin, and his sister, Margaret Burgin Allen. He is survived by his children, Ralph C. Burgin, III (Mary Sue), Diane Burgin Nero (Roland), Linda L. Burgin, and step-son, James A. Bailey (Libby); grandchildren Ralph C. Burgin, VI and Carrie J. Burgin, and step-grandchildren, Bobby Bailey, Kathy Bailey, and Mandy Beniost.
