Ronnie was born in New York City on September 19, 1930 to Swedish immigrant parents. Her father, Sixten was a clockmaker from Avesta and her mother, Judith managed restaurants. Judith fell ill with Tuberculosis in 1934 and the family returned to Sweden in search of a better climate. Judith was sent to a Sanatorium and succumbed to the disease shortly thereafter.

Life in Sweden was very different. Ronnie and her sisters, Vera and Ulla, quickly learned the language. They skied to school, spent summers in the beautiful countryside, and travelled throughout Scandinavia.

Ronnie moved back to Manhattan when she was 20 where she met her future husband, Anthony, a WWII and Korean War veteran. They ultimately settled in Baltimore with their children, Christopher and Joan. Ronnie and Tony retired to Bishopville on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1980 where they lived until Tony’s passing in 1998.

Ronnie was a fantastic cook and baker, her meringue cookies and cherry cheesecake were legendary. She loved to sew and would spend afternoons making clothes for herself, Joan, and eventually granddaughter Kelly. She was a prolific writer, composing long letters (in Swedish) to her family overseas.

Ronnie was a positive, loving influence on our lives. She greeted everyone with a big smile. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
