Rae Jean Tungland, 74, of Spirit Lake passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Rae Jean was born on March 25, 1945, to Benjamin and Vera (Rossow) Vodraska in Spirit Lake. She graduated from Spirit Lake High School. She was united in marriage to Dennis Tungland on April 29, 1967, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. In her early years, she worked at Berkley, then as a waitress at the Dutch Lunch, and later at Polaris where she retired. Rae Jean spent the majority of her life raising her children and being a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower garden, watching birds, classic cars, knitting, and was an avid animal lover, especially cats.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Dennis Tungland of Spirit Lake; son Lance (April) Tungland of Spirit Lake; daughter Lana Tungland of Spirit Lake; grandchildren Brittaney of Milford and Sydne Tungland of Spirit Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Bruce Vodraska.
