Phyllis Packard Richardson passed peacefully in her sleep Thursday morning. Phyllis was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on January 14, 1925, to Dorothy and Blaine Packard. She graduated from Salt Lake’s East High and the University of Utah, where she was a Tri Delta and always the life of the party. She met the love of her life, H. George Richardson, and they were married in 1946 after George returned home from World War II. Phyllis designed and sewed her wedding dress from the silk of George’s World War II parachute.
As Boise residents, Phyllis and George became lifetime fans of the Boise State Broncos, donating to the fundraising effort to build the Pavilion. Phyllis even earned a signed basketball from the Bronco men’s team for her perfect attendance one recent season. Phyllis and George purchased a cabin on Payette Lake in McCall, Idaho where their family (including their grandchildren and great-grandchildren) enjoyed decades of cherished memories. Phyllis and George shared a love of many other things, including the Utes, golfing at Hillcrest Country Club, water and snow skiing, watching football and basketball, and entertaining their many friends.
Phyllis will be joining her parents, her husband, George, and her daughter, Joan, in heaven.
