Phyllis Joann Cooper, 83, of Shoals, Indiana entered the Kingdom of Heaven on December 14, 2013 after an extended illness.
She was born in Anderson on June 14, 1930 and lived in Shoals since 2002. She retired in 1988 as Vice President of banking operations for Citizen’s Bank Key Bank, and also American Federal Bank.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Donald L. Cooper of Shoals; son, Scotty L. Cooper wife, Jane also of Shoals; sister, Juanita Boyd of Alexandria; 2 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert Johnson of Lawrence, Kentucky; 3 nieces; 3 nephews; and beloved pet and cherished friend, Brandi Rae.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Emma Helmic Palmer; stepfather, Edward Clark; daughter, Dixie Lynn; sister, Mary Johnson; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Hazel Smith Cooper; sister-in-law, Kathryn Scott; brother-in-law, James Boyd; nephew, Larry Boyd; and niece, Sueanne Boyd.
