TILLER, Phyllis J. passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1937, in Bloomfield, MO, the daughter of Cecil and Glenna Stewart Tiller.

In 1950, Phyllis and her family moved to Michigan where she grew up and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School. She was employed by The Shakespeare Company for many years. After leaving Shakespeare’s, she owned and operated several businesses in the Kalamazoo area, including Pappy’s and Bonnie and Clyde’s Restaurants. Phyllis was a charter member of East Main Church of Christ.

Surviving are her sister, Helen Edwards of Bloomfield, MO; two nephews, Gary Karen Tiller and Larry Edwards; niece, Rose Tiller; six grandnieces and nephews, Tammie Bob Birdsall, Mark Katie Tiller, Amy Joel Sommers, Stacy Dennis Schultz, Ryan Melissa Edwards, and Adam Edwards; seven great-nieces and nephews, Alex, Bailey and Carter Birdsall, Tyler Knotts, Brooke Tiller, Dennis Schultz Jr., and Conor Edwards; and many many close friends and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, George Tiller and two nephews, Glenn and Ralph Tiller.
