Phyllis E. Greene passed away Saturday morning, May 29, 2021. She was born July 8, 1926, in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of John R. and Juanita (Duncan) Green and had been a lifelong area resident.
Phyllis was known as Grandma Philly, Ma, Mama, Mama Philly, Phee Phee, Philly and Miss Philly. In her younger years she was a Den Leader for the Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts. She worked at Wagner Clark Funeral Home where she retired after 25 years. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and listening to her Jazz music.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Charlotte Gillam; son Ronald Gillam; granddaughter, Tonya Gillam; grandson, Phillip Gillam; and brothers, Joseph Green, John Green, Jr. the 1st, John Green, Jr. the 2nd, and Ed Green.
She is survived by a son, Michael (Arlene) Gillam; daughter, Monica Fields; 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Special niece, Leslie Green Shotwell; and special cousin, Jerry Berry.
