Phyllis Arlene Davis Sheldon was born February 28, 1925, and passed away August 23, 2014 at ABCM Rehab Center in Independence, Iowa. Phyllis was the only child of Arther and Hazel Johnson. She attended rural schools and graduated from Chariton High School in 1943. This was during World War II. She traveled to California and married Homer Davis. They returned and bought the Davis Farm. Phyllis taught rural country schools near their home for 8 years. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years, also worked various jobs.
