Philona Jules Apollon, 40, of Union, NJ was born on July 11, 1981, in Haiti. Philona lived a life that demonstrated love for Jesus Christ and her family. A legacy of love, joy and laughter to those who knew her most. Philona graduated with a Master Degree in Health Administration and worked as a dedicated Program Assistant at Kean University since 2014.

Philona’s loved ones describe her as a caring and compassionate person who put God first; someone you can count on for moral, spiritual, and financial support; it was difficult for her to say no to someone with financial needs. Philona was there through the good and bad times; a person of such poise, beauty, impeccable fashion, head-strong and independent, but also competitive, not to mention her love for the National Basketball Association (NBA).

Philona is survived by husband of 13 years, Sebastien Apollon; her mother, Ylioza Daniel; her father, Silatan Jules; brothers: Nadlyn Jules and Robson Daniel; sisters: Keslande Jules Powell, Marie Jules, Lynde Jules, Daphne Dort, Norna Jules, Julie Jules, Katanya Jules; 3 nephews, Isaah, Kain, and Leio; 6 nieces, Aaliyah, Naomi, Sanjie, Kelani, Sonna, and Kara; father-in-law Francois Apollon; mother-in-law Marie Apollon; brother-in-law Claude Apollon, Paul Apollon, and Ricardo Apollon; and brother-in-law Michael Powell.

Philona devoted time for teaching God’s word to children and volunteered in church administration. She loved giving to nonprofit organizations. One of Her heart’s desires was for her family, friends, and loved ones to be born again in Jesus Christ. There were many moments spent talking about various topics and praying to God in the name of Jesus Christ.

Philona was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt who always wanted the best for her loved ones. She left the people who knew with fond memories that will last throughout their lifetime – hope, love, laughter, a determination to excel and succeed, to make the best of every situation because with God, all things are possible.
