KENDALLVILLE, IN PHILLIP MAX CARMIN, 84, former Muncie resident, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 in Kendallville. The son of Kit and Hazel (Kirkpatrick) Carmin, he was born August 13, 1924 in Gaston, Indiana. A 1942 graduate of Harrison Township High School, he married Becky McKinley on February 6, 1949 in Eaton. Max was well known for his work at Smittie’s Menswear, where he worked for over 50 years.
