He resided in Durham for several years before moving back to Robbins. He transferred his job to Moen Industries in Sanford, NC, where he worked until his retirement in 2019. While living in New Bern, Phillip was a faithful member of Daysprings Ministries and enjoyed attending church and sporting his many suits. He was an avid bible reader; he never left home without reading his devotion.
