Phillip E. Gingery, 83, of Loyalsock Township, entered into rest Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born Nov. 13, 1934, in Williamsport, he was a son of Claude E. and Vera J. (Krape) Gingery. He married Delores J. Chadderdon on Dec. 5, 1953, and together celebrated 64 years of marriage. 

Phil was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High School. He was produce manager of A&P Food Stores for 25 years, and also had worked in roofing. Phil loved going to the beach especially Ocean City Maryland, where he and his family would always go and he would socialize with anyone he would meet. He enjoyed talking with his neighbors and reminiscing. 

He was a member of Northway Presbyterian Church, and a 25 gallon blood donor. Phil was a fan of the New York Yankees, enjoyed playing cards and working in his garden attending to his roses. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son Phillip L. Gingery (Rhonda L.), of Cogan Station; two grandchildren, Tara L. Wyland (Joseph), of Montoursville and Lance P. Gingery, of Cogan Station; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Lia, and Elijah; a brother, Jack L. Gingery (Mary Helen), of Nisbet; and a sister, C. Mardell Keller (David), of Cogan Station.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Burrell R. Gingery.
