Phillip C. Pomranky, 66, of Hessel died Monday, June 8, 2009 at MidMichigan Medical Center.
The son of the late August and Edna (Emery) Pomranky was born March 25, 1943 in Midland where he was raised and educated. Phillip served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam and after 20 years retired from the military as a chief machinery repairman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
Phillip is survived by his sons, Ronald “Kipp” (Melissa) Pomranky of Manistee, Phillip “Michael” Pomranky of Los Angeles, California, and Sgt. Anthony (Amber) Pomranky of the USMC currently in Iraq;
grandchildren, Ashlyn, Brandi, Marc, Amber, Joey, Arrianna and Brittany; brothers, Ernest (Laurel) Pomranky of Sanford, Clare Pomranky of Midland, Eugene (Julie) Pomranky of Midland, Elliott (Tammy) Pomranky of Rudyard, David (Alice) Pomranky of Sanford; sister, Leona Dopp of Sanford; brother in law, Lyle Hollingshead of Midland; sisters in law, Audrey Pomranky of Hope and Ann Pomranky of Midland.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Kimberly Flannigan; brothers, Walt and John; sister, Eleanor Hollingshead; and sister in law, Bernice Pomranky.
