Philip Wayne Malm of Moscow died Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at Gritman Medical Center. He was 60. Phil was born December 13, 1956, along with his twin, Doug, to Carl E. and Margaret M. Lovell Malm. He grew up attending Moscow schools where he was active in football and wrestling, graduating from Moscow High School in 1975. He then attended the University of Idaho for a time. Phil enjoyed water skiing, golf, snowmobiling, radio controlled models, rebuilding a classic 1976 Trans Am, and worked at 49 Degrees North for 15 years, as a member of the National Ski Patrol. Phil worked as a carpenter on numerous construction projects until his retirement. Phil and his twin, Doug, married twins Jena and Jill Lassen (Malm) in Twinsburg, Ohio on August 7, 1993. It was a double double wedding. Phil is survived by his wife, Jena and their son, Timothy, now a student at the University of Idaho, his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Jill Malm and his niece, Rylie, all of Moscow. Also surviving are his sisters, Kirstin Malm of Moscow and Karleen Mays and her husband Ken of Tigard, OR. Aunts Pat Colbeck of Moscow ID, and Marilyn Sibley and her husband Lud, of Gold Hill, OR and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Malm in 2004.
