Philip J. Franklin, 88, of Muncie, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born in Pioneer, Tennessee on November 11, 1925 to the late Albert and Roxie (Sells) Franklin. Phil proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a carpenter for many years for Attlin Construction.
Phil will be missed by his loving children, Connie Craycraft (husband: Danny) Losantville; Sharon Clevenger (husband: Monty) Muncie; Michael Franklin (wife: Sheryl) Muncie; Mona Williamson (husband: Bill) Muncie; three brothers, Herb Franklin, Sabastian, FL; Boyd Franklin (wife: Shari) Muncie; and James Franklin (wife: Mary Jane) Muncie; five grandchildren, April Lemen (husband: Jeff) Muncie, Dawn Miller (husband: Tom) Winchester; Ryan Myers, Muncie; and Josh Franklin, Tennessee, Stephanie Eige (husband: Jamison) and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special friend, Phyllis Amburn, Muncie and his cat, George.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Norma J. (Conn) Franklin, sister, Phyllis Norris, sister-in-law, Deloris Franklin and granddaughter, Tammie Craycraft.
