Philip Emerson Brett, 68, of Terre Haute and formerly of Warsaw, Indiana, died May 18, 2013 at Meadows Manor North surrounded by his siblings. Phil was born March, 10, 1945 in Connersville, Indiana to William and Shirley Payne Brett.
Phil worked at DePuy in Warsaw for many years before he suffered a major stroke. He enjoyed singing in the Chain of Lakes Barber Shop Chorus for many years. He loved genealogy and history. He was an avid reader, coin and stamp collector. Before his strokes he had the desire of restoring old cars, mainly Studebakers and giving them to his beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Sgt. Andrew Wilson.
Phil is survived by his former wife, Donna Brett, of Warsaw; stepdaughter, Sara Yarber (Chris); and step granddaughter, Allison Yarber , all of Bourbon, Indiana. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Brett (Jan), of Smyrna, GA (formerly of Terre Haute), and Dennis Brett of Terre Haute; his sisters, Carol Perry (Bob) of Hartford City, Indiana and Susan Wilson (Rick Stamper) of Terre Haute; seven nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
