Philip Conte, 85, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Indian River Hospital, Vero Beach, FL. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Springfield, NJ and Toms River, NJ before moving to Vero Beach. Philip was a US Army Korean War veteran. He was a part owner of Conte’s Deli in Springfield, NJ and later worked at Multi Chevrolet, Union, NJ.
Philip was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge 1585, Mountainside, NJ. He was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen, in 2006 and his brother Joseph Conte. Philip is survived by his 2 sons and a daughter in law Kenneth and Tammy Conte of Nashua, NH and Robert Conte of Union, NJ, a brother Marcello Conte and his wife Maria of Springfield NJ, a sister Marie Glenn of Texas and 5 grandchildren, Andrew, Nicholas, Ariana, Gillian and Emily.
