Mrs. Petrina Rinella, age 98, of Orange, beloved wife and faithful companion for 43 years of the late Dr. James S. Rinella Sr., passed away on Friday, December 12, 2008 in Milford Hospital.
Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Frances Datillo Scarpace, she was born on August 7, 1910 in New Haven. Prior to moving to Orange, where Petrina was a longtime resident, she grew up on Olive Street in New Haven. She worked side by side with her husband in his Dentistry practice for over 20 years.
Survivors include a devoted daughter, Mary Winters of Orange, whom she resided with for the past 30 years, and her three children, John James Winters and Michelle Anne Winters, both of New York, and Kathryn Petrina Winters of Rhode Island, a daughter Carmel Fedors and her sons, Mark Rinella and Eric Fedors, all of California, two great grandchildren, Ethan Fedors and Gia Rinella, and a son Dr. James S. Rinella Jr. of South Carolina. She was predeceased by two brothers, James and Anthony Scarpace and two sisters, Josephine Vanacore and Rose Scarpace.
