Peter Paul Ferrara, 88, of Holiday City South, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he lived in Staten Island, NY before moving to Berkeley Twp. 29 years ago. Peter was a Store Manager for A&P in Brooklyn, NY, for many years, retiring in 1984. He then worked for Met Food in Brooklyn, NY for 3 years.
He was a US Army WWII veteran, attaining the rank of Corporal. Peter was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp., and was a member and former Commissioner of the Senior Softball League, played in two Holiday City South Bowling Leagues where he served as Treasurer, and served on the Grievance Committee. He was predeceased by his son, Peter Ferrara, in August 2016. Peter is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret (nee Dannell), three sons William Ferrara of Clearwater, FL, Jeffrey Ferrara and his wife Denise of Largo, FL and Scott Ferrara of St. Petersburg, FL, a daughter Virginia Ferrara of South Carolina, a daughter in law Sue Ferrara of New York and three grandchildren Carly, Vincent and Isabella.
