Peter Max Christensen Jr., son of Peter Max Sr., and Chlora Alberta Semken Christensen transitioned into the next life on July 7th, 2021 in Florahome, Putnam, Florida. He was born on Christmas Day 1936 in Consumers, Utah. Pete was the epitome of a seasoned warrior. His body took the brunt of his military service but not his spirit. His patriotism will never be questioned.
Pete moved to Putnam County in 1981 after a tour of duty in Iran, retiring from the military and embarking on a new chapter of his life’s journey. He volunteered as Assistant Chief of the Florahome-Grandin Volunteer Fire Department, worked for the Putnam County Building & Zoning Department and Seimens-Nixdorf. Pete was president of the Putnam County Genealogical Society and a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He loved the temple and served as an ordinance worker for seventeen years.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Anna Rose Gornto, a daughter, Sherrie Alexander of Texas, four sons, Stephen Max Christensen (Simone) of Australia, Dennis Craig Christensen (Sylvia) of Washington State, David Allen Christensen, and Christopher Scott Christensen of Oregon, two stepchildren, William George Bishop, Jr. (Deanne) of Florahome and Mary Alice “Meri” Rees (Terry, deceased) of Palatka. His legacy also includes 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
