Helen C. Holder, 66, of Hollister, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Putnam Community Medical Center. She was born in Mulheim, Germany, and had lived her life between Georgia and Florida, finally settling in Hollister where she had lived for the past 16 years.
Helen had worked as an adjunct professor for St. Johns River State College where she taught Algebra for both Palatka and St. Augustine campuses. She had also taught math in several of the local schools in Putnam County. In her leisure time, Helen enjoyed arts and crafts, was a member of the Palatka Art League and enjoyed racing airboats. She especially enjoyed painting and had many of her pieces displayed at the Tilghman House as well as Haven Hospice.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Roy Holder, children, Deanna Schmelz (Michael), Anita Land, Dalton Holder, and Justin Holder, siblings, David Carter, Robert Carter, Ronnie Carter and Rose Newbold (Ron) and grandchildren, Kenly and Carter Schmelz, Riley, Ryan and Nathan Land and Jaxon Holder.
