Peter McCarthy passed away peacefully, at the age of 66, on June 15, 2011. Peter was a beloved husband, an outstanding brother, and an incredible friend. He is survived by Sally, his loving wife of 39 years, brother Jeffrey (MaryBeth), and his aunt Doris Near from Florida. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Lt. Colonel Jim McCarthy and Norma McCarthy. Peter was a disabled U.S. Army Veteran who never let that disability get in the way of experiencing life, and credits his long term survival post injury due to the excellent medical care he received from the VA for the past 46 years. He was an accomplished pilot, loved boating at Lake Powell, racing with the SCCA, and traveling with Sally in their RV.
