Peter James Gruppuso, 59 of Toms River passed away Monday, October 22, 2018. Peter was born December 22, 1958 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Nick and Maribell Randolph Gruppuso. Peter was a loving father, devoted husband and friend to many. He enjoyed Italian food, loved muscle cars, was a passionate Jets fan and treasured his dogs.
Peter took great pride in being fortunate enough to work with Veterans as he had a great love for his country and deep respect for it’s military. Peter was known to be able to fix anything he got his hands on. He started a band at the age of 18, Threshold and was very proud of his achievements musically. Above all he loved his family, they meant everything to him. He will be greatly missed. Peter is predeceased by his parents, brothers, Paul Gruppuso and Loring Gruppuso.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Gough Gruppuso of Toms River; sons, Nick Gruppuso and his wife Karen of Manchester, NJ; Joe Gruppuso of Mount Holly; Peter Gruppuso Jr of Toms River; daughters, Melissa Gruppuso of Mount Holly; Krystie Gruppuso of Oregon; stepson, Thomas Sokolski of Brooklet, GA; stepson Ryan Walsh of NY,NY; stepdaughter, Amanda Sokolski of Brooklet, GA; brothers, Chuck Gruppuso and his wife Rosemarie of Totowa, NJ; sisters, Joanne Wean of Tinton Falls; Sally Goos of Halifax Nova Scotia, sister in law, Suzanne Wirth and brother in law Donald Woefel of Hamburg NY and his beloved grandchildren, Eric, Maria, Isabella, Katie, Gianna, Parker, Xavier and many dear nieces and nephews.
