Peter F. Trella, 82, of East Haddam, passed away early Saturday morning (September 30, 2017) at the Wm. W. Backus Hospital in Norwich.
Born January 2, 1935 in Meriden, he was a son of the late Peter and Nellie (Yara) Trella. Peter married Constance G. Bowker on December 28, 1956. The couple shared 55 years of marriage before she predeceased him on their anniversary, December 28, 2011.
Peter was the owner and operator of TREL Concrete Products in East Haddam. He was involved with several groups and organizations in and around the community where he worked. He was a member of the American Legion Post 113, the St. Joseph’s Polish Society, Colchester Farmers Club and the Colchester Fish and Game Club. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, boating and crabbing or anything else that brought him outdoors. He will be remembered by his family as a hardworking man who will be sadly missed but always remembered.
Survivors include his son, James and wife Julia Trella of Guilford; two daughters, Bonnie and husband Mark Brown of Livermore, ME and Diane Trella; a brother, Benny Trella; a sister, Emily Bryda; two grandsons, Jeffrey Brown and his son, Oscar Young-Brown; Benjamin Brown and wife, Jenna Balestrini; a special friend, Arlene Camparelli, and numerous extended family and friends. He was pre deceased by two sisters, Helen Tone and Stasia Murphy; and six brothers, Casmir, Edward, Henry, Joseph, Stanley, and Theodore.
