Peter Foster, 86, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on April 27, 2011. Born on June 9, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of Martin and Anastasia Medved Velichko. He was preceeded in death by two sisters, Anne Klucher and Mary Ephany and four brothers, Michael (Bud), Nicholas and John Velichko and Alex Kulik. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Thompson Foster, daughter Betty A. Feingold, son-in-law, Bertram E. Feingold, MD, two grandchildren, David L. Feingold, MD and Debbie F. Fredrickson and four great-grandchildren, Cailan, Blake, Emma and Trevor. Peter was a WWII Navy Veteran who served onboard the Deystroyer USS English DD-696. He was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for his action in the Pacific Theatre battles. After serving in the military, he created and owned a successful upholstery furniture refinishing business in Manchester, Connecticut for 30 years before retiring in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was an avid golfer. He belonged to the Manchester Country Club and Skungamaug Golf Club in Coventry, Connecticut.
