Pete Reyes Garcia, 91, of Ammon, passed away February 5, 2016, at The Gables of Ammon Assisted Living Center. He was under the care of EnCompass Home Health and Hospice.
Pete was born October 26, 1924, in Guadalupita, New Mexico. He lived in Guadalupita, New Mexico, Erie, Colorado, Superior, Wyoming, Butte, Montana, and in 1957 he moved to Eastern Idaho. He graduated from high school in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He served in the US Navy for his country during World War II, earning the ranking of Seaman 2nd Class.
In 1951, he married Virginia M. Munoz in Erie, Colorado. To this union were born four children. Pete and Virginia made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Pete worked as a Auto Mechanic for Ron Sayer for many years.
Pete enjoyed gardening, shooting guns and working on cars.
Pete is survived by his son, Joseph P. (Sherry) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mike A. (Laura) Garcia of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Kathleen R. Horman of Ashton, ID; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia M. Garcia; his parents, a son, Dan Garcia, and two sisters.
