She worked in the fashion industry in her younger years and was a fashion icon to those who knew her even through her latest years. An acquaintance of Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Eleanor Roosevelt, Perry was a great lover of art, culture, and politics, taking the train from Scarsdale into New York City well into her 90’s to see plays, art exhibits, and the like. A fighter through the end, she lived for 3 days with pneumonia in both lungs and acute kidney failure after being taken off all fluids and antibiotics.
